THE GINGERBREAD HOUSE

A sweet escape in the heart of Tallebudgera Valley

A white house with a wrap-around porch, surrounded by trees and a well-maintained lawn.

About Us

The Gingerbread House has been a cherished part of Tallebudgera Valley for decades. Once operating as a café and restaurant with a commercial kitchen, it later became a venue for concerts and live bands.

Today, it has been thoughtfully restored into a romantic two-storey cottage, blending its original character with modern comforts. Set within established gardens and overlooking Tallebudgera Creek, it’s a quiet place to slow down, celebrate, and connect.

Happy Customers

  • The Gingerbread House was truly one of the most special and unique places we’ve ever stayed. From the moment we arrived, we were amazed by the stunning surroundings. The drive there took us along winding roads lined with tall trees, and just a short drive from the house we discovered beautiful waterfalls to explore. It felt like we were completely immersed in nature, yet we were only about 15 minutes from Burleigh, which had a lively atmosphere, beautiful beach and plenty of great food options. The house itself was so quant and charming. We felt at home right away thanks to all the thoughtful details throughout. The interior design was perfect, like stepping straight into a fairytale. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and the bathroom was spotless and had everything we could need. From the windows, we could see the most beautiful garden, full of greenery and the sound of running water. All in all, it was an unforgettable stay. We couldn’t recommend it more highly and can’t wait to return!

  • We were some of the first guests to stay at The Gingerbread House, and it was the perfect retreat for the days before and after our wedding. Nestled beside a peaceful stretch of Tallebudgera Creek, the cottage is cosy yet modern, striking a perfect balance between luxury and serenity. Surrounded by lush greenery, we were able to relax, unwind, and recharge in complete privacy. When we felt like exploring, it was just a short drive to Burleigh to enjoy the beach, boutique shops, and many great restaurants. Closer to The Gingerbread House, we discovered plenty of hidden gems to make the most of our stay. Waterfalls and rock pools were only a short drive away, and the local wildlife was always nearby if you paid close enough attention. Every detail of The Gingerbread House was thoughtfully designed, making our stay truly memorable.
